So after making tons and tons of these fun Christmas Art Journals, I have tons and tons of random scraps sitting in a box on my craft table. I have already saved a bunch for random projects, but a lot of them still need a new home :) I think a giveaway is in order :)I'm going to give away two of these Christmas Scraps Packs! The scraps vary in sizes and include patterned Christmas-themed papers, transparencies, vellum, vintage sheet music, writing paper, and more. Each pack has over 50 pieces of scraps, varying in sizes and shapes. Some may have a slight tear or crinkle here or there, but still have plenty of room to cut up, punch shapes out of, etc.

My favorite christmas tradition would be making advent calendars. I have a very good friend and we send each other one every year even though we live half a country apart.

ReplyDeleteMy favourite tradition is decorating the tree - we assemble the tree (Christmas in Oz is too hot for areal tree to survive lon lol) and then let the kids decorate it however they want. Lov ewatchign them go crazy with it all!

ReplyDeleteMy favourite tradition is making a Christmas box to put all the presents in. We get a cardboard box and wrap it in christmas paper and use that instead of putting presents under a tree. My Oma started the tradition.

ReplyDeleteI have 5 kids and LOPVE having thier friends come over and be a part of everything. When I was a kid it was just me and my mom....I spent the holidays with friends and was always floored at the huge gathering of people (and no fighting!!!) and food and warmth...I so want that for my kids to remember when they grown up...I want tehm to tell thier children about how fun and loving our holidays were :)

ReplyDeleteI was an avid scrapbooker before I became a quilter...I love both hobbies and would love to have your scraps. Our tradition is setting the table with a variety of snowman plates that I collect. It's always a festive atmosphere.

Yet we are the women of our family are doing hand-made cards for children from orphanages and send them by mail.

ReplyDeleteIn Australia, Christmas is very hot, so I would absolutely LOVE to have a white Christmas.
ReplyDeleteSo someday i hope to possibly live somewhere where this could happen, and i would love to establish a tradition of waking up with hot coco in the morning, and having the parents and kids and the dog, sit together in bed and watch a christmas movie :)
But a current tradition we have is that, I help my sister, and my little niece and nephew make dessert sweets. Like cookies, little cakes and other things like that :)

Around here, Christmas is all about taditions, making the tree, gathering with friends, cooking... but my favorite one is probably doing all I can to keep the Santa Claus spirit in the house. Beleive it or not my kids (8 & 10 years old) still beleive in Santa Claus!!!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite tradition is our activity based advent calendar. I love that it encourages us to do things together each day. So far it is just my hubby and I, but I think it will only get better as we have children.
ReplyDeleteI also use our advent calendar as the basis for my december daily journal. It gives us something to write about each day.
I will start making advent calendars as Christmas tradition next year when my granddaughter will be older. She's only fifteen months now and I don't think she'd appreciate a calendar :-)))

ReplyDeleteOur favorite christmas tradition is to go to a special kidschurch with christmas. After the - ooh, I don't know the right word in english - ceremony(?) all kids get a nice childbook as present and also an orange. I still don't know why this fruit, but I got it also when I was a child and it's really a tradition here.

ReplyDeleteSince my daughter was 2 (she is 5 now) I started signing up for a family Christmast card swap. We spend a few fun afternoons making cards to mail to approx. ten different families from different countries.
It is great quality time, I am introducing her to crafting, the joys of snail mail and hope we keep this tradition going for many years to come.
As you can see, if we were to win your scraps giveaway, every piece would be put to good use!

ReplyDeleteWe celebrate christmas on 3 different days: christmas evening, christmas and boxing day. There's no difference between these days for us. Every year, I visited another house and spend christmas with other members of my family because my mother and my aunt didn't speak to each other. This year, they settled their argument, and for the first time in years, we can celebrate Christmas all together. I wanted to make a little book for them, with pictures of their youth together. This gift would be an amazing help for making that happen.
