on photoshop action sets.

I use Photoshop a lot to make quick edits to my photos and have always been fairly happy with the results (I am by no means a Photoshop expert. Like, at all. ;)). I've heard of "action sets" for Photoshop, but had never used any. My, oh my. I discovered these available as a free download over at The Pioneer Woman and they are SO fun (I know, I know - I'm probably super late to the party on what and how cool action sets are). The click of a button and your whole photo changes. She has two sets available for download here. Below are a few of my faves from each set :)

  1. When you run actions, look at the individual steps to see what they are doing... get a general idea of the steps, what they do and why you like them. Then go into the Adjustment Panel and make your own edits - that's when the fun starts! :) You can even create your own actions!

  3. This is the most helpful post on Photoshop that I've ever seen! I have a decent camera, but I have always been overwhelmed by the Photoshop software. Even though I have always looked at great photographs and wondered, "how'd they DO that?" I stay away from the program. Thank you for naming these effects and showing the examples. Simple, yet so informative!

  4. i must admit i have never tried Photoshop before. i just always thought it's best to leave it to the experts, i never thought even the non-experts could do it. will definitely try it out one of these days, thanks to this post!
