Handmade Envelopes and a Travel Mini Album

Per yesterday's post, these are the envelopes I was working on this weekend - there are 3 sets of 10 coordinating paper envelopes. It was pretty much my first time attempting to make envelopes, and it was actually not that difficult. I made a template after seeing one on the internet, traced it onto the non-showing side of the paper and then cut 3 at a time. I erased any pencil marks and then used permanent rolling adhesive tape (Tombow, my adhesive of choice!). Each envelope will hold a 4.25" x 5.5" card.
My in-laws, Jim and Katie, came for a couple hours on Friday afternoon to drop off their dog and have dinner with us-- they are headed up to Canada for a couple weeks to travel! So fun! My son was elated to see his Mimi and Dahdaw and very excited to see Sandy (their dog). Katie and I were talking about their trip and we started talking about the mini album I had put together for my hubby and my trip back in April. We decided to throw one together last minute for her to take on their trip. It was SO fun-- we started pulling out all the paper, punching holes, finding envelopes (!!) to put in, and putting together a "travel kit" of embellishments for her to tack on during the trip. We were on a time crunch since they needed to leave that evening to get back home, but we were very happy with what we got put together. She was going to work on arranging the pieces and embellishing it during their trip. I talked with her on the phone yesterday evening and she was so excited about it and had so many ideas of what to put in it and to collect on their trip. I can't wait to see it finished! Hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures and post them :)
Cover, basic- she's going to add handwriting about where and when they are going.

Travel kit- We put together some labels, paper punches, ribbons, flowers and stickers. She is taking along my markers so she can write in different colors each day- makes it so much more colorful and pretty :).
