Good morning! Not a whole lot going on in the studio right now. A couple things...
I finished up a brochure design for my church for an upcoming women's retreat... waiting on a phone call from the printer to go see a proof :)
Finished up a custom order list taker and mailed that off.
Mailed out a couple found paper scrap packs - I'll be putting more together by next week- the shop is currently out of the Regular Scrap Packs (50 pieces) but there are still Mini Scrap Packs (25 pieces) available if you're interested :)
So, a question for all you fabulous people out in blog land. What do you do for inspiration when you feel like you're in a craft funk? How do you get your creative juices flowing?
My sketchbook is full of amazing inspiration I've come across here and there, but I feel like my own creative juices are not flowing... at all. Any ideas?

  1. If you find out how to get out of your craft funk... do let me know! I've been the SAME WAY lately! :(

  3. It is so interesting that you mentioned this in your post. A few friends and I were talking about the best way to get your creative juices flowing is a set a craft goal and then follow it. For example, one of my friend set a goal for 31 scrapbook pages done for the month of january.

It also seems easier to be creative when you keep at it regularly. So my suggestion is to set a goal and then just start on it. Even if you are unimpressed with the first project after the goal, keep at it. Think of it as Marine style crafting, the odds may be against you but you plan for victory anyways!:) Hang in there!

  4. It's probably time to pull out all your magazines and look through them again. I like to go to the book store order a hot tea and sit with a pile of books and magazines. It's also nice to get out of the house and spend some time alone once in a while.

  5. If I'm feeling like I've hit a wall with creativity, I'll make myself carry my sketchbook or at least a small notebook (that can fit in my pocket or purse) and jot down ideas or inspiration or drawings from things I see in the everyday (like a window display in a store, color combos I see, even menu layouts at restaurants). Then in the evening, I'll go back over what I wrote down and try to expand on a few. I've found that even if I don't create something right away, it gets my brain working to thinking creatively which eventually leads to creating! It happens to everyone =) Thanks for your openness in sharing! Good luck =)

  6. My first instinct when I feel 'stupid' this way is to grab a box of crayons and color on blank paper ... or oil pastels ... or colored chalk. Anything easy to reach that puts color on the page in non-judgemental ways. As a small child I LOVED to color and I still do -- the colors inspire me to play and that usually gets me past the funk ... or maybe just sates my desire to create enough to help me survive?
