I recently created a custom journal for a customer who is planning her wedding. She wanted a large book to put in wedding planning mementos, notes, letters from her mama and future mama-in-law, and other bits of memories of her engagement time. She wanted a 50 page, 6"x8" journal, and for it to have a vintage-ey feel, and with her colors - mustard yellow, rose pink, olive green and pastel colors. I knew this would be a fun book to create :)
I combined vintage papers (cookbooks, dictionaries, books, ledger, etc) with new papers and Bazzill cardstock, some vellum confetti-filled pages, envelopes and overlays. I added embellishments like bunting, ribbon weaving and other die cuts to the pages, along with sewing a bunch of the pages. I added a quote from their wedding invite to the front, along with some punched circles and a heart. I then layered it over mustard-yellow polka dot paper and a vintage foreign text page and added in burlap for texture. Below are all of the page spreads (50 pages!) - so lots, and lots (and lots) of photos ;)I am so, so happy with how it turned out! :) And now to go make myself one ;)
Beautiful work! You continuously inspire me with your many ideas and possibilities.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes from a springy and blossom-filled Vancouver.

ReplyDeleteoh.. so lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you use to do the cover? Cardstock?
This is really beautiful! I love it :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the idea. Its absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI just came cross this and LOVE it! Do you sell these? I would love to purchase one. My sister is about to have a VERY preemie newborn who will go to the NICU for about a month and I wanted some type of journal system for those that came and stayed with the baby. After my sister delivers her baby she has to start chemo treatments 4 days after she gives birth (!!) so there will be many visitors and things that she does not see at the NICU that I would love for people to be able to record for her to see later. Anyway, long story short.. can you make this?!
ReplyDeleteHi Madison! Thanks for your comment. I do make them and sell them in my etsy shop. Go here to see the listing :) https://www.etsy.com/listing/193330940/custom-vintage-6x8-journal-50-pages?ref=shop_home_active_29
DeleteTwo of my kiddos were preemie NICU babies so I totally understand and think that it's a great idea to have a journal for that time!
I'm so sorry that your sister has to have chemo right after delivery :( What a great support she has in you! :) Thoughts and prayers to your family!
