autumn journal: final update

I know, I know, it's December, but I wanted to share my final autumn journal update. I had been working on the last several pages and finally got to the point of just wanting to get it done and move on to December. So, it's finished!  I am loving having this cute little book of our fall season. And I am loving how it is a nice, broad overview of the past several months. *Edited to add: For this set of updates, the photos were printed on regular white computer paper.

Thank you for your kind comments along the way with this journal - this is the first time I've ever documented an entire season and it was so helpful to have encouragement through your comments. Thank you :)

Thanksgiving Thankful Printables

I decided to make these Thankful pages to add to my Autumn Journal for Thanksgiving this week. They are 4"x6" and you can add them to your journal if you are keeping one. Or, you could print a bunch, and have everyone at your Thanksgiving gathering write what they are thankful for and then bind them into a book. I adhered the two pages back to back, and plan on adding in photos from Thanksgiving opposite of each page.

Below are the cards to print. Click to enlarge, save and print on 8.5"x11" cardstock and cut down to 4"x6" using the cut marks. Enjoy :)
As with all printables I share here, these are for personal use only. Please link back to give credit if you would like to share on your blog. Please contact me with any questions. thecreativeplace (at) gmail (dot) com. Thanks :)

Autumn Journal Update #2

An update on my Autumn Journal. So much going on over the past several weeks. Sometimes it's hard for me to pick and choose what goes in (I always have tons and tons of pictures) - thinking about adding another envelope (or two. or three.) and then printing off the extra pictures to include.

I am really happy with how it is coming together. Trying to think outside the box on how I am displaying my documenting. Trying to incorporate different ideas, but still make it feel cohesive. I added a part of a baseball card holder (cut down to 2 squares) and put in some pictures of our fave recipes this fall with the recipe written on the back. I also made a "pocket" out of transparencies so that I could show some of Jimmy's creations instead of having to put them in an envelope. I'm loving having his little bits of artwork in here.

Autumn Journal: Thus Far.

Am glad to be able to share my autumn journal thus far! :) After awhile of being super busy, I was able to finish and catch up on some of the little happening around here :) I used some customized mini flashcards throughout as sort of a theme of key words. I like how it is making it feel cohesive. Some of the words I kept in their original size (1"x2.5"), and some I cut down to "fit" better on the page. Love the flexibility with using those.

This is the first time I've kept a journal of a season, and I am a fan. I love keeping a Christmas Season Journal (December Daily!). I created a spring journal awhile back for my shop, but never kept one myself. I am kind of liking the idea of keeping one for each season. Just documenting different little happenings here and there, but also creating ones for bigger events, like my vacation journal I recently completed.

Are you keeping a journal for the season? How's it coming? If you would like to start one, it's not too late! Go for it :) If you need a journal to help you get started, I have one left here
Don't you LOVE the vintage dictionary definition of Autumn: "the third season of the year, between summer and winter." Love this :)
